1) Transitions make or break the entire news story so it is very important to have a good grasp on how to change from one subject to another and keep the flow of the story going in the right direction.
2) As morbid as this sounds, I enjoyed reading the part about the obituary writing because I cannot imagine how stressful it would be to write an obituary, knowing that you are writing/publishing the last thing about a loved one that could make their survivor(s) love or hate you.
2 Questions
1) How many times should a piece be written, edited and rewritten before it is published? I know that probably varies depending on the writer, but I am looking for an average number.
2) Is it always bad to be a wordy writer, or is it just when you are doing news writing?
